Default Radio Replacement

The radio in my F-150 is shot, it’s a funky aftermarket piece of junk that won’t work. I’m looking for a nice replacement AM/FM with a new speaker. Any recommendations?

Some of the best radios these days are marine units IMO
I got a real good one for my van (a Kenwood marine unit with a splash door you have to lift up to put a CD in it)
It has four 5 volt pre outs for amps
You do not need all those amps in a truck but the radio has 50 watts x 4 as well using the speaker outputs
And it was cheap (compared to some of the ones with the display panel that comes out and up)
I got mine on Ebay
I think mine is better than any of those I see on Crutchfield right now

I agree with Crutchfield. They will even offer recommendations and have free adapter cables so the whole process is plug and play with no wire cutting or splicing. I doubt a marine radio is any better since there is a huge difference acoustically between an enclosed cab and a boat. Fitment is also something to take into consideration between the two.

The sound specs are identical for the marine radio
The marine radio is just better for vibration, and I like The splash guard where dust will not enter my CD slot
My radio was recommended by the Sound engineer I have been talking to (Sound Warehouse)
I have 12 speakers in my van and 3 amps
There is a lot of thinking and figuring to be done to achieve good quality sound
The bass is easy, it is the mid-range and highs that need to be figured out using wave form numbers and calculus if you care to take it that far
I know a medical Dr. that has a sound studio and he does exactly that.
Loud is generally good enough for me
