After reading your post again I have a few questions. Did you swap to a vacuum advance distributor like I did? Or are you using the original HEI Dizzy with the brain box under the dash?

I would still check that starting circuit wire.

it turned out to be the ignition actuator that’s mounted on the steering column past the dash , it had split apart so I wasn’t getting any power to make it run

The ignition actuator? Is that the Red/Blue wire by chance? Sounds like the circuit I was trying to describe, except mine may have been another color after I gutted the brain box and all related wiring. LOL. My next guess would have been the dual brake warning sensor. Those are the Purple/Black wires that go down to the brake line splitter on the frame right in front of the cab on the driver side. Those will cause the same effect.
