Need new headers, and some HELP!
Gentlemen, hello again! So here’s what’s going on: managed to figure out the issues with my trucks performance is a bad CAT, and since all my exhaust on this truck is still original, it’s time to do a full exhaust swap. Which for me, means I’m taking the old exhaust manifold out and am putting on some headers. Here’s the details:
1983 Ford F-150 BASE 302 V8 4x2 long bed pickup. Automatic trans. Has the factory manifolds in, and I’m trying to decide what to get. Do I need long or short tube? And can I use any headers compatible for a does 302 engine? Or were they all different back then? I’m only 30 years old and picked up truck restoration about 4 years ago, so any help at all would be AMAZING. Thank you all in advance!

Hi Evanlake,
I don’t think you could go wrong with Hedman or Hooker, they’ve been around for years
I think you would be better with long tube headers, just go onto their website and plug in all your information ( year, make, model, engine, etc.)
They will have a set of headers that will work for your application, you’ll pay a little more ceramic but they will stay looking better longer
Hope that helps
Cheers
