I have a 1979 F250 4x4. My parking break was loose so I crawled under my truck to tighten it. Got it all tightened up and when I pushed the lever down to put the break on it started out stiff like it should be then made a noise like the cable pulled free then the lever went straight down with no tension and the parking brake won't hold my truck in place.
Anyone have any ideas on what happened and how to fix it?

 

Your cable broke or a connecting piece popped loose or broke. Gonna have to trace it to find where

Yep, looks like that may be a small bit fubar, lol
