An f-250 should have at least a semi floating dana 60, do you have 5 or 8 lug wheels and do you have a hub on the rear axle. The Dana axle have a number extruding from either the third member or one of the axle tubes that will tell you the axle model.

Default Rear

Thank you for the reply I have 8 lug wheels and it's a two wheel drive I would go check the rear for numbers but it's well below aero and covered in ice hopes this helps.

You also could check the door pillar for the axle codes, someone here should have a list of the codes that could tell you what axle it is. Unless you have rear hubs you will have a Dana 60 semi floater with rear hubs you have 2 different axles that it could be. Ford did not use the sterling axle until 86 so you cannot have it.
