Default More fuel problems I think.........

Hey Guys. Some of you have been following my struggle with this truck here. Here is the latest. I really need some help here. I am hoping that you can clear some of this up and give me some options here. I finally was able to get both fuel pumps to work at the same time. I fixed some wiring. However, I used you wiring diagram and did a complete rewire because I wasn't happy with the condition of the current setup. So.....With both pumps working, still WON"T START without starter fluid. I cannot even check fuel pressure because there is no schrader valve!!! Once started with starter fluid, too much load on engine will cause it to die. Also if I hit the gas quickly it will stall out and make a loud noise from the engine and die. If I rev it too high, it will do the same. I did change the pickup coil and the gear on the distributor prior to doing the pump, but I don't believe this to be the problem as I have verified that I put it in with cyl 1 on compression stroke at TDC with rotor pointing to wire 1. Like I say it will start with starter fluid only. Both pumps run. So.............I took off the intake manifold to get a better look today. No schrader valve. I plan to take the fuel rail off, clean and check injectors, and check fuel lines. I don't even know what else to do at this point. WHAT COULD THIS BE??? I need help here. THANKS!

By the way....I suspect that I may have a different engine or at least different heads. I found this number on the block. Any idea if it clears anything up?
