Same as buying a motorcycle, and adding 2 more wheels to it. Or buying a desk, taking it apart, adding a few things, and making it into a couch.

If you want a car, start with...

(You guessed it!)

A CAR.

Doing that to a pickup truck makes it NOT work as a pickup truck any more, and it makes a LOUSY car. It's no good as a motorcycle, or as a couch, either.

Hi Jordon,

If chasing aesthetics, looks great.
If done right (cambers reset etc), still practical.

You mean Chevy's copy of the Ford Ranchero? No, I have no feeling one way or the other about them - they're OK for what they are. Now, if someone asked about lifting one, and making it 4WD, or trying to turn it into a 1-ton, he'd get essentially the same response from me that you did.

But remember - you ASKED for opinions about ruining an antique. And you asked on a site full of people who LIKE these trucks. If we hated them, but were stuck with them, we'd be complaining and trying to get rid of them, or trying to make them into things they're NOT.

Default Thanks

I appreciate the feedback yet again. I understand it’s not your cup of tea. I feel the same way about 35s on a street truck or tires outside of the wheel well. I don’t use the truck for heavy towing, it’s a daily driver and sometimes has a kayak in the back. I was looking for feed back on looks primarily.

OK, I think the 2nd pic looks like a helluva nice survivor, and the 1st looks "sad".
