igniton actuator rod
i know this is my second post about this and i appologize but my last may have been a bit too long winded for anyone to see what i actually need.
i have a 1981 f150 with a 3speed manual trans and i need the igniton actuator rod not the switch that everyone trys to sell me but the rod that connects the ignition actuator arm too the igniton actuator switch its about4-5 inches long and has one end at a right angle and the other is a hook
ford has stopped making them and to date i have found no aftermarket makers nor a machine shop capable or willing to attempt to make one.
one day i hope to restore this old girl and id like to go with all original so i dont want to jury rig an igniton if anyone owns a junk ford with this part id be glad to buy it or if anyone has a junkyard near them and theyd be willing to take a look for me i can get pics for you if needed please i need help

I am having the same problem, found a replacement on Ebay new for $12.99, yes it is the rod.. FYI.. I was told it is very time consuming so i opt for the steering wheel column ($75) and am replacing the whole thing.. Hope this helps.
Curious - How is the rod damaged or broken? Usually it's the other 'pot' metal parts that break.
Can you try to make something out of a coat hanger or other rod material from a hardware store?

the how it broke is funny i was driving home from picking up my lil girls new bed and i got to shift to second for the turn and mid turn my shifter falls off and does a 180 and in my fear i ripped it all the way back over catching the rod in the process soo once i finally stopped the truck and tried turning it off to my suprise i couldnt and it only looked a lil bent so i tried putting it back in place and bending it back and then the little hook part broke off now im just using the rod to start the truck until i can replace it
