Default Hesitation when accelerating

When I slow for someone turning and then try to accelerate the engine seems to stumble then I hear a pop, after that truck accelerates fine. Same with going up hill sometimes. Everything I have read pointed to a fuel problem. I have replaced main fuel filter added inline filter before fuel pressure regulator. New carb as well. I also found a filter in the feed fuel line and removed it. Took it for a drive and it seemed to have fixed it, unfortunately it happened again. I’ve monitored fuel pressure while driving and it held steady at 6psi. This truck has been converted from EFI to carb and has an AOD transmission. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With a carb, I would be looking at the operation of the accelerator pump on the carb. I would also check base timing. When so much has been changed from its original configuration, problems often occur that can be difficult to resolve.

The pop is lean misfire
Fatten it up some
Let it warm up
Typical cold carb problem
The chole and more importantly, the choke pull-off need to work
You want that choke to be tight enough to pull up the fast idle cam
Then once started, you want the pull-off to work well enough to give it air
Spec for the pulloff used to be around 5/32 depending on altitude
We had to go to roughly 1/4 at 5000 feet
