I got an 85 f150 and have a differential that is similar but have no idea what it is either. A few owners before me swapped out the engine tranny differential and it looks very similar how the bolts are in the front as opposed to the rear.

 

im going with 44. is the cover 9 1/4 wide? Look in the top right weld where the housing meets the axle (or anywhere). there could be a stamp somewhere under all that dirt. lol
