Default HELP 1981 stepside tail light's

Hey y'all just started with this forum and was hopin someone could help he out with a wiring problem. I've got a 1981 F100 stepside and the tail lights aren't working right. Here's the problem when I step on the breaks the back lights come on like normal but then when I put the left turn signal on the right side break light goes out, but when I do the same for the opposite side it's works fine. Does anyone knw the color code for the wiring? Thank you

I dont have a diagram of a color code. But I know those tail lights can be a pain. My suggestion would be to take the tail lights out and see see if you find any problems. And check the wires that run alonf the edge of the back of the bed. . Could be a simple short or bad ground. The wiring is fickle and sensitive and doesnt take much to screw things up

get a friend to help and a cheap poker with a light and find out which cable is doing what, often times the trailer brake plug causes issues with wiring back there too

I have a 1982 F-150 4x4 and that was the first thing since last March when i bought it that i replaced. My tail light socket had the bottom material had granulated and fell out when i tapped it.I replaced the socket and also re did the grounds associated with the tail lights, they are in the tail light housing vary obvious. After replacing the socket and sanding down the ground area to bare metal, my tail light don't flicker and are solid. The sockets are relitively cheap, i think like i paid $6.00 advanced auto, worth it as they are old.
