Headlight Issues

Default Headlight Issues

Ok so I recently resurrected my 86 from the backyard. Its been sitting for a couple years. The front end was shot and unsafe to drive. At any rate its up and running! My issue now is i have no headlights. Both were working when it was parked. So I've gone thru and checked fuses, just replaced the switch today. Still no lights. All other lights work perfectly fine!
I want to do a conversion on the headlights. But I wanna make sure everything is where it needs to be before I do so. Any things I might have missed?

Have you gone over the wires to be sure the rats didn't get to them?

Didn't have rodent problems. Nothing chewed or anything like that. Ok so I with the test light. If both headlight plugs are detached. I got power at the red lead. But if I hook up one of the leads I lose power to the other side. I mean is it possible to lose both headlights after just sitting? I don't wanna buy a headlight just to test and see.

Took the words right out of my mouth .. check all the grounds. In closing your side marker lights. Also check your dimmer switch

So basically its unlikely that both headlights have gone out? Stated earlier that I just replaced the switch assy. And are ya saying that the headlight grounds are next to the blinkers?

If your positive that the switch is good the dimmer on the floor is working right. Then yes. Check fuses and check your grounds.

Actually, I never thought about the hi/low switch on the floor. Never really used it because it was always stuck in the low beam setting. After looking at it I realized that its seized up pretty darn good! I'll try and get that thing freed up best I can. Maybe that's the missing piece of this puzzle?

Easier to just replace. Even if you get it actuating again the switch in inside is probably corroded
