I have a 79 F-150 w/ a 300six. Driving home last night I lost my low beams only. I was also informed that my plate lights were out also I do not have a wiring diagram so I'm not sure where these circuits may be common. ANy one have a wiring diagram thoughts?
An interesting story on this event. I was driving home and the dimmer switch worked a few times. Then a car was coming the other way and I hit the dimmer switch and the lights went out, clicked it again and high beams came on. The truck has two sets of headlights one regular and one for plow setup. I hit the switch to put the lights on plow circuit, hit dimmer switch again, no lights. Put them back on high, OK.
Well a few minutes later the old red lights started flashing behind me. The car I was cutting the lights out for was a trooper. Fortunatly I had just had the truck inspected 2 days before, so he believed my story that this just happened. Let me go no problem. He did compliment the trucks condition.
