Default HEAD-ing for trouble

Hi, just found out the heads on my '78 302 engine are possibly good for a small dinghy anchor. The machine shop is checking them for rebuild-ability. Worst case scenario is needing new. IF that is the case what do you recommend for replacement source/best bang for the buck, etc. Truck is stock, I don't need racing or high end, just reliable. Thanks, Larry

The most reputed production head is the GT40/GT40P heads. Do your research, though, as the GT40P heads need some work before being as good as the GT40 heads.
