Default It gets worse.....

I pulled off the carburetor this evening thinking it is the source of my problems . Oh it was , Upon pulling it off the intake manifold, I found one of the mounting bolts loose and to finish it all off, as I looked underneath there are screws missing and the base ( around the idle screw area) is broken in two, I am surprised I have not caught the engine on fire!!!!!.

So friends i come to you asking (now in desperation ) on what to do.

It is a 1985 302 engine with a 2 Bbl carb ( or whats left of it)

Should I try the salavge yard?
Should I try to order a new or rebuilt online?
Should I go get one from auto zone/Adavance auto?

Many thanks in adavnce for your time and advice...

I rep[laced the carb in the truck last weekend, found one at adavnce for a 1981 that seems to fit my particular application, considering the only things left under the hood are the PCV valve, distributor and the power booster to the brakes all other vacuum operated items were long since removed. I still feel that the vacuum lines ( those that are left) were not done right.

so here is one question I have, where does the power booster vacuum hose go, It is currently going to the intake manifold ( rear of engine) I would think it would go into the rear of carb. This is the first power assisted Ford I have ever owned so I have no idea on the logic with vacuum assist. And the emissions sticker ids no help.
Thanks in advance for your time and suggestions.
