Default Fuse box

I have an 86 F150 6 cylinder with a bad fuse box. Haven't been able to find a new or used replacement. Would any other years work in my 86? Or does anyone have any other suggestions?
I bought this truck on ebay last Fall and have been happily running around in it! But I'm having difficulty finding some parts.
Thanks!

U might be able to fine one in a junk yard if u haven't already looked there.. If i am thinking right u can get one from an 85 to an 87 or to an 89. I aint real sure on that year cause it has been awhile since i have had to do some work to that year model..

I've been trying salvage yards but no luck yet. Thanks for the reply!

What's wrong with your fuse box?

You may have to go to a generic fuse box(es). You would have to use inline holders for the flashers and such. Take a lot of notes and photos.

Didn't know you could get a generic fuse box. I'm learning a lot though, thanks! My running lights went out and mechanic said that portion of the fuse box was burned up. They rerouted around it and now they're working, but I was hoping to find a replacement.

I would probably leave it as is. But monitor it check that it's not getting hot.
Are the running lights an aftermarket add on or original?
Someone could have put the wrong fuse in (too big). Sometimes a light bulb will blow out in such a way that it causes a near dead short and blows the fuse. If the fuse is not correct then the wires will heat up.

Or it could have been just a loose connection in the fuse panel. Loose connections will also heat up.

Running lights are original. They worked fine until a different mechanic was trying to get my horn to work, put in a new one, and then the lights didn't work. Oh well, they're working now and I'll heed your advice and leave as is and just keep an eye on it.
