If the float is all that's bad, you can replace the brass float only. The Ford part number is COAZ-9202-B. The number on the tag of your part crosses to E5TZ-9275-H which is discontinued.
Hope that helps.

Question What year is your truck?

If you would edit your signature and put in the year and model you could get more help.

Plus, what tank(s) does your truck have and which one is giving the problem?

LMC Truck has them for most all years...theirs fit my front tank perfectly.

Default fuel tank sending unit

My truck is a 1986 F150 4x4 Canadian built with a 17 gal. tank midship. The float in the sending unit is fine. Dropped tank and had sender unit tested by two maint. men at work they said it was working. Traced the connector wire down and found it was broke about mid way. This truck was abused by its last owner every thing on the truck was jury riged. But I bought a 4x4 drive truck for $500.00 so can't complain too much. Thanks for all your help and advice
