Front suspension sag?
I have an 85 f150 4x4 I just picked up. This is my first f150 my last truck was an f250 diesel 2wd so i need input on this setup. My front springs "coil" seem to be sagging as my bump stops hit the axle enough to leave marks when I hit bumps. How far from the axle should the bump stops be when I am siting on level ground? This truck had a plow on it with the last owner so I suspect worn out springs. I have about 2 fingers or 2 to 2.5 inch between the stops and the axle now. Btw I removed the plow and will not be putting it back on at least I don't plan to.
Im not sure what the exact factory ride hight is but it shoukd be more then 2" id say many years with a snow plow bolted to the front and plowing thru pot holes wore the coil springs out you can probably pick some up at a junk yard . And theyre not that hard to change. I would suggest all new bolts and nuts and shocks ball joints and tie rod ends
