I am currently looking at buying a 79' F-150 4x4. The truck has a 351W with headers, Holly carb, C6 tranny, and Dana 60 or 70 rear axle. The catch on this truck is that it does not have a front axles in it. It had a Dana 60 front axle but the guy selling it is going to use it for building another truck. Which leaves me wondering what to out in its place if I get it. The truck has leaf springs up front so that threws the TTB axles out. What are your suggestions? Soild axle is a must from my understanding, Dana 44 maybe? I have a 85' F-150 I could put the engine and all in it. I can get the 79' for about 800.00. Nothing is wrong with the trck (except missing fron axle) the guy just wanted to build a another truck and needed the axles to run the 21.5 x 54's he's going to put on it. Your veiws and opinions are welcome.

a 44 should be fine or you could step up and put another 60 under there. what size tires you plan on running?

At best maybe 44" boogers. What kind of price do you think I should pay for a Dana 44 soild axle?

if you're gonna go 44's , i would scrap the dana 44 idea. go with the 60. can't help with price.
