Default FNG from Western Mass.

Hello all, I just posted my intro in the main section, but figured I'd jump to the section I'll be haunting the most and re-post my intro here also.....

First of all let me say you all have a great forum here; I've been lurking for a little while....

I'm finally trying to get to restoring my grandfather's '83 F150. He bought it new in '83, passed away in 1987 after which it spent 14 years sitting in the barn. It was given to me in 2001. It has about 68,000 original miles on it, and most of damage on it is due to me not being able to garage it properly.
Many years and many different projects (new house, Harley re-build, etc) got in the way of doing the right thing by this truck.
Now I'll have the garage space this spring and I'd like to start getting some stuff done. Sadly, I still don't have the time or proper tools to much of the work myself, so I'll probably be sending out for a lot of the work....

Anyway, hello, and I'll try to post some photos below; sorry they're not very good right now...

Looks like a nice, ol' work truck. I'm very impressed by condition of the steering wheel. Most of the time these have been faded by the sun, cracked all over, missing buttons, and have black electrical tape wrapped around them.

I'm guessing all the time it spent in the barn helped with the interior; the only thing really destroyed by the sun is the dashboard and the tops of the door panels....

Interior looks pristine! What are your plans for it?

Generally, I'd like to do an honest restoration. The only major mod I was going to into was whether or not the '83 (two wheel drive) could be economically turned into a 4WD..... other than that, just probably some suspension stuff to start out with...
