Default egr questions..

hope someone out there can give me a pointer on this, I have a 1985 302 carb (out of a mustang?) in a 1983 F150 6cyl. body, the egr is vacuum and electric assisted. I have no wireing for such in the body, I have been told I could remove the egr altogather and put a blocking plate in place of it. All the emmisions etc.. were not transferrd to the '83 when the motor was installed ( NOT by me but previous owner) what would any of you do in this situation, should i try to reinstate the egr ( and possibly fix a oil pressure/ drivabilty problem) or keep the exhaust crossover blocked off and remove the egr altogether?

Thanks in advance for your time and thoughts

alright , here what to do...... take your carb off and take the egr plate off.... take the egr off the back so that its flat.... cut you a peice of aluminum or sheet metal and dob it with silicone and bolt it in place of the egr...... then reinstall....

i did that on tuesday, and put it all back on, (used aluminium can) so its there, crimped the exhaust crossover ( it was broken anyway) to close it off, now when i run it, i have to keep a vacuum port open or the truck runs really bad and the oil pressure drops even faster.. readjust carb to compenasate?

Thanks for the response.

I may go see someone about readjusting carb again, either that or reinstate the egr, its definately a vacuum thing going, drove it a few days ago, oil pressure stayed up better but drivablity went down...
