Default EEC-III Crankshaft Position Sensor

How is the crankshaft position sensor retained and the gap adjusted on an EEC III or DuraSpark III system? Can someone post a picture for me? I'm trying to set up a crank trigger on a 302 using parts from the EEC III system and I don't have access to a vehicle with this system for reference.

That's because it's an incredibly rare & UNpopular system, which Ford abandoned shortly after implementing it, because it was more trouble than it was worth. I've been working on these trucks for over 3 decades, and I've never found one (even in hundreds of JYs across the continent) with the DS3 system. I've only seen it in documentation.

I'm sure there's still a few cars and trucks out there with a crank sensor. Maybe one of the owners or an old Ford tech from the west coast will chime in.

There are millions with crank sensors; but very few (if any) that use the DS3 ignition system. Have you tried Google Images?

The best image I could find was an illustration from a manual on one of these forums. I'm hoping someone who has one can take a nice picture for me. I did see it mentioned that the gap should be set to .075 between the sensor and the reluctor wheel. The illustration that I saw appeared to be a U shaped retainer similar to a distributor hold down clamp holding the sensor in place. I'm not sure how one would set the gap with that arrangement. Perhaps it will be obvious when I put it together, but I would like have a plan and know how everything is supposed to fit together before I start tearing the front of the engine apart, especially since I don't have that retainer and will probably have to make one for myself.
