Default Coil spring spacer

Hey I just recently put new leaf springs on the rear of my 1991 f150 and I was wondering how big of coil spacer I should use to make the truck level in the front and back. I'm thinking it'd need a 2" spacer but I don't know. could use some suggestions.

Without decreasing ride performance, lmctruck.com offer front springs that will raise ride height 2 inches. This will eliminate the use of a spacer. I installed a set on my 86 f150. Fairly easy install and price close to price of spacers.

2" will put it back to near factory stance with a slight rake. Measure top of tire to wheel well lip. Then measure rear same way. Bet it will be 2 3/4-3 1/4" difference.

Spacers are available for around 50-75 bucks on ebay plastic vs aluminum.

They are shinier. I guess in a round about way aluminum would be better cause they are solid and probably would last through more abuse. But i doubt you would break a plastic one.

I was looking at them on Ebay and they don't look like there's much to them. Do you think you could make one and they'd work just as good?

Thats iffy. The mass produced ones are already tapered, tapped, tooled, and designed to fit the spring pockets.

You could make them but by the time you get a couple blocks of aluminum and spend the milling time alone your gonna be double-triple or more the price of a mass produced pair.
