Carb running too rich

Carb running too rich
So I carb swapped my truck because no matter what I did or who I worked with the efi would not get better than 7 km per 1/4 tank.
everything is running fine but I am still running really rich and I have the tuning and jetting kit for the carb (street demon 625cfm) and I have it leaned out as far as it can go.
it's a 351w with a mild cam I have a weiand intake and I'm trying to figure out if I should swap to a new smaller cfm carb to get the system to lean out enough I'm not blowing black. I'm looking atthe slayer series 450cfm carb from holley. But I'm not sure if this is going too small for my engine or if it will bolt up to my manifold without an adapter. Any thoughts on the carbs would be a big help as I'm new to carbs I'm still learning though they are easier to understand than efi.
