I've got a 1978 f-150 with a straight six. It seems so loud inside its do able but I'd like it quieter...has anyone else done something to quite their trucks?

 

I put Be Quiet insulation from the firewall to the rear of the cab and inside the doors. Just remove the floor mats and cut it to fit and pull off the paper on the
rear - it sticks right onto the floor - rub it in place with a wooden roller or your hands or roll a screwdriver handle over to take out the air.

It made a huge difference, can now carry on a conversation at normal volume and hear music from the radio and talk on the cell phone.

Yeah an adhesive backed mat will help. You can also help by spraying that tv stuff flex seal on the firewall in the engine bay. Dont forget you can to inside the doors and the big plate behind the seat. Will make a huge improvement.

It looks like bubble wrap but it is shiny silver IDK what it is called.

 

There are several sound deadners in spray or roll on. Most auto parts stores sell sound deadners. I am going to use on my cab 1982 F-150.
