Did you concider swaping the tranny and front axle(for the 4wheel drive) out of the '86 and putting it on the '77.
Because i have an '86 and '84 and i am currently doing a 4x4 swap. and the front axle drops out quite easily.
Let me know how the project goes!

if your talking about the 86 it is ttb but its a f250 ttb so it has the leafs.my 77 has twin beam but 2wd and coil spring. if i had the money i would just get a dana 44 and a transfer out of a f150, but i dount and i have to have a 4x4 but if any one wants, all trade the f250 for the d44 and transfer and i appreciate your advice fordnut84 no one els it seams has any thing to say

yup, no problem... and sorry im not sure if the frames are wider from a '77 to an '86. Im reeally into 80-86 and 90-96 but i'll ask around, and i'll check on a D44 for you
