I know it has been done in the past. I had a 88 f450 and we put a 96 cab on with no problem.

you would have to use the wiring out of your old cab. You would not be able to use much or any of the wiring on the 96

Would I be able to use that gauge cluster or would I have to change the dash?

You will not be able to use the cluster. What are you going to hook the cab harness to? I am sure your truck has a cable driven speedo and the 96 is electric.
