1985 f150 -351w -c6 trans -weber carb...
at hiway speeds the truck cant seem to decide between 3rd and second at times. it will "buck" back and forth to no end until i either floor it or back way off the gas. i am new to this transmission. is there an adjustment for the kick down?


also, as you can see in the pic is seems the kickdown lever is making contact with the throttle linkage which cant be good.

also, the ballchain thingy on the right there....is that cruise control?

any help?

did some research. couldnt find a good reason for it. took it off. runs great now. i guess if i ever want to drop to second ive always got the shifter for that. arm was attached to trans by a zip tie. thanks p.o. he had also welded a piece in there which was probably why it was out of adjustment. i guess i will never know how to adjust one.

 

Yes, the ballchain connection should be the cruise control connection
