Default Brake Master Cylinder

Brake Master cylinder....do they come with a gasket? I bought a new one for my old 78, with new brakes and hardware....but it didn't come with a gasket and the guy behind the counter said there was not one listed in the computer for it.....

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did your old one have a gasket? If so and can't find one I would make one.

I don't know, I haven't taken it off yet. I bought the replacement parts....then broke my leg at work so I haven't had the chance to get out and change it. Hopefully in about another month when I get a little more mobile...I can get out there and change it.

The reaspon for buying it was because the Brake Master Cylinder was leaking at the back where it connects to the brake booster. Eventually I will get a new brake booster too.
