Bosch Starter....
My '86 F150 Lariat 302 needs a new starter. I got a good deal on a Bosch battery and found a Bosch starter (part # SR549N) for about $20 more than advances autos top starter. I have used Bosch tools for years with ZERO problems from them. Has anyone here ever used a Bosch starter? Problems? Likes or dislikes? Thanks

I have used them in the past with zero issues as well. Asa far as starters go, the 20$ is nothing. That said, I have some higher compression engines with cheap Napa or Advanced starters with zero issues as well.
The big thing for starters in cables and tune. My truck has OEM cables that are in OK condition. The tune is perfect. if a mouse farted on the key, it would start instantly. Not even one full revolution.
My 67 Tempest has 00GA wire to starter + and 00GA wire to the starter housing for -. Starter is a Napa special. Had it in car for like 6 years.

Battery cables
I am going to use Taylor diamondback cables - 4/0 gauge wire with solid brass terminals.

I am going a bit old school with the truck and using braided stainless steel hoses - so far only on the radiator hoses. The cables are wrapped with stainless steel.
