Default AOD Swap need help

I have an 83 f150 2wd currently with a 302. the c6 was shot so i found a rebuilt AOD out of an 1990 e150. I used my flywheel of my 302, but the torque converter that came with the AOD. everything seems to bolt in just fine linkage hooked up with minor mods, shortin the driver shaft.

My Question is on the AOD there is a plug with four wires and i cant seem to pin point exactly what those wires are for. Does the AOD have an electric torque converter lock up?

I would try to put the truck in gear and it would do nothing i would have to rev the truck up 2 or 3 times for it to move forward and repeat.

Is it possible the linkage kickdown i had to install not correct? Would that make it now go into gear properly at all? please help i am at a loss.

I also attached a pic of the plug and wires that go with the AOD out of the 1990 e150

I think those wires are for the reverse back up lamps and neutral lockout. The neutral switch keeps the starter from working when not in N or P.

The AOD does have a lockup torque converter. As for the TV cable you should get one for your vehicle or a universal. The fuel injection cable will not work on a carburetor engines.

The linkage from the carb to the trans for the C6 is for kickdown it will only move the lever on the trans when the throtttle is to the floorboard. The AOD linkage is for throttle pressure it actually makes the pressure rise in the trans as you add throttle, it does basically what the vacuum modulator did on the C6. You will have to use the carb and cable from the engine that was in front of the AOD to get the trans to work right. If you try to drive it without the proper linkage set up you will burn up the trans. Unless you just want an overdrive trans you might be better off with the C6, the AOD is a decent trans but the C6 is more heavy duty.

The main reason i went with the AOD is because my C6 was shot, and it was free. So would the linkage cable be the reason i have to rev the truck to about 3000rpms before the truck will roll forward in gear? It will also not shift into any other gear.
