I dont know what theyre on there for but ive had ford 4x4s from 79 to 03 and never seen a cross member a t-case. Kinda looks like somebody maybe used them to stab the trans back in... id let them off and see what happens and go from there

Thinking back I had a f250 that I used to haul fire wood and tool around the farm. 1 day I put a whole cord in the bed. Driveing down off the hill the bed floor caved in but once I unloaded the truck drove down the road and it poped back up and the bed sides went back to normal. So maybe somebody tried to fix the bed from caving in. But looking at that picture I dont really see a strap on the fuel tank either

Seems like a strange place to store your straps

Default wow

It sure looks like they are using them to wrench that tailshaft into place...if you take them off,I'd have a floor or transmission Jack under the transmission. I think it's gonna get real loose under there when you do....wow...what some guys will do to keep from fixing anything... some or this stuff could really get someone hurt or worse...good luck to you sir...

I would be curious as to that to. That said I did use a ratchet strap to pull the rear end into place when I changed the leaf springs. But I didnt leave it there!
