hey all my names erik and am new the the forum, ive got an 86' 4spd 4wd l6, the truck fires up fine every time it just idles at 2000 rpm. im trying to trouble shoot as of now, i just picked up a gasket for the carb and am curious if theres anything i can do with the choke first so i can avoid taking off the carb.(im nervous about taking off carbs only did it one other time on an 88 power ram about 6 years ago so i kinda forget. thanks again

 

u check for any vacuum leaks? Could be a leak in the hose somewhere or the gasket is bad and it is sucking air in between the gasket and the carb..

 

yea imma do new gaskets tomorrow. we'll see what happens
