Default 84 won't start when hot

My 1984 F150 starts right up in the morning. After I drive it for a while, and it warms up, it doesn't want to start. I crank it and the engine turns over but it just doesn't start. I eventually get it started after a few minutes of waiting and trying a few times. What's the deal here?

Please provide vehicle details. Engine, transmission, fuel delivery method, ignition type, modifications, etc.

How well does the starter crank the engine when it's hot. And how hot are we talking. Normal operating temperature or over heated?

It's a shame when someone asks a question and doesn't bother to acknowledge responses or update the thread. I realize "it's the internet", but still kinda rude.

Without knowing engine displacement or induction, given the year and symptoms, I'd look to the DSII system. But that is due to the OP's absentia, post thread.

Could just be old and worn out. Packed full of road crud. Not displacing heat well enough causing the starter to turn slowly.
Could be that the temp gage is malfunctioning and the motor much hotter then the reading. And it won't start because it's overheated. Lol just taking shots in the dark.
