I have an 84 4.9. Carb has just been rebuilt, and i have to dump gas in carb to start. When its running, if i push clutch in to change gears the engine will die unless i keep my foot on the gas. Any help is appreciated

 

does the problem go away after the engine is warmed up? did you tune the carb yet? maybe the fuel pump is getting weak....

 

Brand new fuel pump, new filter, don't know how to tune carb, and it does it when warm sometimes, have to put gas in to restart

 

find somebody who knows how to tune a carb...choke may not be working right, mixture screws may not be set right, idle may not be set right,
