Hey folks. I just took receipt of a 1984 F150Xl 5.0 Carb 2x4. It has inoperable rear tank, inoperable fuel gauge, and the climate control switch is stuck on defrost and floor.
it has 86k original miles, and probably needs a quite a bit of TLC from age. I’ll send updates as I begin the journey of refurbishing this beauty.
This site (www.garysgaragemahal.com) caters to trucks of that era, so they'd be at least as eager to see what you're doing. There's a forum there to document project trucks.

That's a rare factory paint option.
Is there a place to find the productions numbers for trucks with certain options? I can find the solid copper trucks, but I don’t see any with the old school white cab.
Here is the engine bay, after a light degrease and spray down with a gentle garden hose. It was dusty, needs a new filter, and certainly needs some new belts!

Not any that are reliable. And it doesn't really matter. Your truck isn't worth any more than any other of that era in similar condition, regardless of how many or few of each configuration were built. These trucks aren't collectible, like Corvettes or stamps.

It's just a factory optional paint scheme that wasn't particularly popular, so not many were built that way. There was a discussion on GarageMahal a few months ago (possibly within one of the build threads) about the various paint schemes available on flareside (stepside) trucks. But most of those patterns were also available on fleetsides, like yours.
