The 351 in my pickup went through 3 starters before the correct one was located and even now I wonder if it's right. It works but it's noisy. Shrieks when you hit the key. It starts fine but I think the starter needs to extend further for a more positive grab on the flywheel. The mechanic mentioned he wasn't sure how many teeth the flywheel had...82-83 maybe?
