sorry for the confusion I caused by not stating that it was the L6. I was not sure if it varied over the years.

thank you for the link Mud Slayer. that is almost exactly what I was looking at doing. One of the cool things I saw was that the fuel efficiency improved and it passed the emissions test with only a cat.

I think I would like to keep the heat stove since I will be taking this truck up to the snow quite a bit (its the cold weather performance that it affects the most right?). I'll probably talk to a mechanic that I am acquainted with about that a bit more. THough in the end I will probably have to go without it just for the sake of being able to get parts.

No problem about the confusion, they never really varied in years as far as I know, you probably could get away without the heat stove depending upon how cold it gets where you live, but as far as that I can't help you there that is your decision.
