78 brake problem
I am having a problem bleeding my brakes. I know how to bleed the lines but I believe there might be air in the master cylinder because we bled the lines for about an hour but I still barely have any petal. Any ideas
If master cylinder went low, it has to be what is called bench bled. Bleed lines are connected to MC and as it is actuated full travel the oil is allowed to go back in to reservoir. You will see the air bubbles in the return lines, cycle the piston until bubbles are clear.
Another cause of low pedal is a broken or missadjusted rod going into the MC from the booster. As I said earlier, if the MC went low, bench bleed it first, just install the bleeder hoses from the kit making sure the open end of the hose is below the fluid level so air won't be sucked in on the retrun stroke of the cylinder.
