77-79 Engine - Tramission Joining advice
Guys I'm trying to put my 351M/400 back in my truck and marry it up with the transmission (manual B&W 4 speed), straight and to the point, should I remove my motor mounts when trying to do this? Aligning this blind is already a nightmare but it seems like my motor just can\'t get low enough, or transmission get high enough, to slide them into each other, because the studs on the motor mounts just keep riding around near their respective slot and it won't ever settle the way I want it.
Removing the transmission is out of the question at the moment, it's too complicated for me especially with a transfer case and I'm concerned for my own safety because this is a loner project with the occasional help from friends when they are available. Plus I don't know how to remove it with the cross member in the way, I just don't know what to do.
Edit: If you are near central GA and want to help in person, I am never against it lol

Putting the engine back in?
I usually jack the transmission up all the way until it hits the body, and leave the mounts on the new motor
You could leave the mounts off until you get the engine stabbed
A scissor jack and some wood is your friend
A short piece of 2x3 and the jack in the right spot
Some of those old ones are a fight because the trans and T case are so heavy
