460 5 sp swap
Hey Guys
Been searching for a while on this topic and still need some advise. I am restoring a 79 f150 just finished the paint and body and almost done with the brakes and suspension, now turning my attention to the engine and trans. I am pulling the 460 5 speed out of my old 89 350, questions are motor and trans mounts and trans tunnel problems. I would also like to reuse the hydraulic clutch. any in site on these problems would help.
Thanks

80 to 96 are the same basic frame and cab - 79 will be a different version. Some careful measuring on both vehicles will be in order.
Don't recall if they had the 460 yet in 79, but they definitely had the 429 with a C6, so you would think it's gotta fit (being as a 460 is just a stroked, detuned 429 and a 5 speed should be smaller than a C6).
Just an aside, on carbed 460's we used to throw the 429 crank gear on to really wake 'em up, but you've probably got your engine tuning figured already.
That's my .02 worth anyway.
