i have a 76 351w rate now and the current heads are from a 69.the 69 heads are bad and i was wondering if i could put the heads from a early 80s 302 motor on to my 76 block

 

The 302 heads will will but only after you machine the holes for the head bolts, they havet to be opened up a little bit to fit the bigger 351 head bolts. Also, if your having to put on some new heads, search gt40 heads. I want to say the heads from a V8 explorer years 96-97 will work really well and the 98 and up GT40p heads work better but need exhaust manifold. Might be work cheking out, I know at our LKQ salvage yards, the heads are cheap to pull off then just have them machined and you would be all set.
