There is an ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor. If my memory holds true, another member had the same issue, dealership found a defective ECT. Have you checked for codes?

a couple of weeks ago i had it to a friends friend who put it on his diagnostic machine to clear up some other issues...got it back from him, then this started a few days later...he's not real convenient, about 50 miles away, and the local guy wants about 75 bucks to check the eec...if that sensor is fairly affordable, i'll just go ahead and relpace it and see if that does it...thanx for the input...i'll let you know how that works out when i can get it done...

o.k...i'm here...i replaced the elec. control sensor...i found it at carquest for 13 bucks...on this day, it wouldn't start, popped the hood and unplugged the sensor, it started right up and seemed to have an unusual high idle, even fluctuating a bit, not the usual warm up idle routine, so i shut it down, installed the new sensor, plugged it in, and it started and ran normal...the next a.m. would be the test, though...so, sure enough the next a.m., no start...unplugged it and it started right up, but runs funky...maybe false readings be cause it's unhooked making it run differently, high fluctuating idle...so leaning towards the computer now...however, there is no brainbox mounted to the firewall or the fender as usual...i guess the thing to do is try to get it back up to brookesville for another reading...tnx...
