Default 1986 will not start

I have an 86 with a 302 with EFI and it is a 4x2 automatic. I hit a brick mailbox with it and tore out the passenger side front fender. In the process the battery came flying out along with a few other things. I since have put that all back together. Did a little body work and tried to drive it home. I started it and it ran ok for about 3-4 minutes and then I turned it off. Started it again a few days later and it ran very rough and a little black smoke was coming out the tail pipes. Turned it off and now it wont start at all now. We have checked the spark and it is good. We have fuel at the rail. We have tried to turn the distributor while starting it. We have tried starting fluid. We checked the inertia switch. Nothing is helping. Please help!!!

Thanks
John

She will never forget that brick mailbox, did it jump out in front of ya? I hate when that happens.

Check for proper connection on starter relay? This has the potential to be incorrectly wired and still crank the engine, but it will not fire if all the wires are not hooked up properly

Btw did you unhook all the spark plug wires? Are they in the right order if you did? What about the #1 piston being TDC on the compression stroke, is the dist rotor pointing at #1 wire?
