Try another 5 degrees ,15 btdc.
Also your marks may be wrong,
Is the popping on tip in, when the throttle is first opened, or whem you jam it quick, or what?

More questions, is your accel pump working,
Is your vacuum advance working, connected.
Is your centrifugal advance working.

Could also be a bad condenser, or bad points dwell , gap , why the does it have points, thats like being one of those kids who cuts themself to see how much it hurts.

I for it around 6 btc and its idleing now just a little on the low side probbly like 400 rpm. The popping is when the diaphram for the choke opens. And the dizzy is brand new all brand new parts. And I'm using points as a temporary set up for simplicity of getting her running then I'm switching to duraspark

If it only does it when the choke opens I would suspect a vacuum leak. It sounds like it's getting to much air into it. Or it could maybe be the air/fuel mixture is way off. Do you have a vacuum gauge? One of the best tools you can get for these older trucks. Great for diagnostics, setting timing and carb.

I don't have a vaccuum gushed but I can get my hand on one. My choke isn't hooked up right, right now I just have a jumper wire hooked up to the battery I'm havein trouble finding a wire to my ignition switch. My fuel pump is hooked up through my oil pressure guage so I'm not sure what other wire I can use
