I had an 86 Bronco with the same drive train as your truck and if I remember right, you have to manually reset the emissions light. I think there was a reset under the dash on the driver's side. I still have all the factory books for the 86 Bronco, F, and E series trucks out in the garage so I can look it up for you if need be.

Emissions warning light reset is under the instrument pannel. Look for a moduloe that has a RESET sticker on it near a small hole. I'm most posative mine was up under the driver's side of the dash to the left of the instrument cluster but it's been about 10 years since I sold the truck.

Here is the reset instructions if you find the Emissions Maintenance Warning (EMW) light reset:

1. Put keyswitch in the OFF position.

2. Lightly push a small phillips head screwdriver thru the .2 inch diameter hole with the sticker marked RESET and lightly press down and hold.

3. Still pressing the screwdriver down, turn the keyswitch to the RUN position. The EMW lamp will then light and should remain lighted as long as the screwdriver is pressed down. Hold the screwdriver down for approx 5 seconds.

4.Remove the screwdriver. The light should go out within approx 2 to 5 seconds indicating a reset has occurred. (If the light does not go out then begin again with step 1.) Turn the keyswitch to the OFF position.

5. Turn the keyswitch to the RUN position. The EMW light will light for approx 2 to 5 seconds and will then go out. This verifies that a proper reset of the module has been accomplished. If the light remains on then the proper reset has not occurred and the reset procedure should be repeated. Turn the keyswitch to the OFF position.

As for the O2 wire... There should be a lead that it plugs into near the back of the motor on the same side as the sensor. Not everything uses the same shape plug so it shouldn't be too hard to find it. If you need to replace yours, keep in mind the they don't always give enough wire on the new ones to reach the plug so you may need to add to it.
