I had rhe same exact issue with my issue with my truck there is a cartrige filter that is in the fuel tank switching valve assy. It is mounted on the frame rail in between the front fuel tank and the high speed pressure pump. Untwist the bottom of it and a filter will be inther that is clogged. This took me about a month to figure out. Should be a 5 dollar fix. Good luck

As per my opinion there are a few possibilities,
How clean is the fuel tank? Is it possible that the screen on the fuel pick-up is getting plugged each time by loose particles in the tank drifting to it each time the pump is drawing fuel?
Is there a pressure or flow regulator that may have been added at some point that is either miss-set or is beginning to block?
How long has it been since the fuel filter(s) have been replaced?
