Default 1986 300 rough Idle

Hi all, I have a 1986 inline 6. I just put a new fuel pump and carburetor and it ran beautifully. Let it sit for about a week, went out there to start it and it won't start without holding the gas, won't stay running without holding the gas, and when it is running it's rather rough. It was doing the same thing previously and eventually stopped starting, that's when I realized the fuel pump was bad. After replacing that, it ran the same way as described until I replaced the carb, then it ran great. Now a couple weeks late it's back to it's rough running/no idle/etc. What would cause this? Appreciate any and all help!

The choke
and
The choke pulloff
YF1A carter carbs need the choke to work
Verify the choke closes and then pulls off when the engine starts
Verify the choke pulloff is within spec with a drill bit
Up here at 5000 altitude in Ut, we have to open ours up a bit more than the spec sheet in a carb kit says
You should be able to get it to run good provided the jets and carb are made for your calibration and altitude

Agreed. Id look at the choke for sure. It may help to go to a manual choke.
