1983 bronco (close enough right?) It's a rats nest and the wiring is a mess now and i'm seriously considering wiring each system on the truck independently and up to a switch panel where the radio used to be, ignition and all it's not sparking and i'm willing to bet it's a wiring problem. Has anyone done this or know anywhere I can look for help? I searched google yesterday and couldn't find what I need. Don't have to worry about being street legal I don't think it'll see the road again.

 

Well if your not worried about legalness. Thdn just use the electrical systems you need. And I guess your meaning that its not firing on all cylinders when you say not sparking. So id check time. And the distributor. Wires and plugs. . .

Wiring in to a switch block wont be to hard. Just find your hot wires for what you want to run. (ignition. lights. Fuel pump etc.. ) and wire them in to your switch block. Jegs sells switch blocks fairly cheap. And even pre fused.

 

Thanks I do need to go through that the truck sat for a while before I got ahold of it. By not sparking I meant it's not firing at all, turns over fine but won't start at all and I have no power anywhere on the truck. I like the blocks from wiringproducts.com and had planned to use something like this. My biggest question I guess would be how to power the ignition system. I can wire decently but I'm an electrician by no means, It could be simple and I'm just not understanding it.

 

The ignition is wired in my pull truck. Works fine for me. Just cant catch start it with a dead battery

 

My battery is brand new, how did you wire the ignition to work?

No no power at all.

 

Youll havd to grt a toggle on the coil and the distributor and a switch on the coil.. id brt tho its something simple whu theres no power

Good thinking but the solenoid works fine it's brand new, truck didn't have one when I brought it home.
