Default 1978 rim compatibility

I have 3 aftermarket spoked rims on my 78. And one solid steel one. Am hoping to get 4 matching. Will any other year rims work? Doesn't have to be pretty nothing else of the farm truck is. The 5 hole bolt pattern shouldn't be a big issue but the off set is.

The spoked aftermarket wheels probably have a bigger center hole than your rear axle hub flange, or the hub flanges on the front rotors
Means
The weight of the vehicle with all the hay / payload is being supported by the lug nuts and not the axle flange like it should be
Bad
I would get 3 more factory steel wheels where the hub fits perfectly

Yes except for the steel rim the center holes are bigger. This is a farm truck, it does not go on the road. Nor does it haul anything heavier than a chainsaw. Still looking for rims.

Pretty sure you can find one of those old white spoke ones at a junkyard somewhere
That's what I'd do, call a few junkyards

6 hr drive to last place that had anything that old. And it was very limited. That's why I wondered if other years would fit.

Don't drive, call them
They will have one of those old spokers for your Ford truck
Correct about multiple offsets though, might want to measure your offset
However, you tell them you have a one or two inch offset and they might say "huh?'"wha"

Did and they claimed to have all the parts I wanted, that is until I got there. Took over 4 hours and me pulling the parts. All the rims are sitting buried in the ground after years of neglect. As with most salvage yards, anything that old is buried in the back 40. If it wasn't crushed decades ago. And anything that sits low on a vehicle are long since junk.
